Spoofhound Wednesday Wave: Learning for EVERY student

Several Maryville R2 School District staff members attended the Powerful Learning Conference hosted by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Jan. 27-28.

Among the presenters were Candace Boeh, MHS Special Services, and Sandra Wood, MHS Spanish teacher, who shared their presentation, “Inclusion Works Both Ways: Offering Foreign Language Instruction to Students with Special Needs.”

The event gathered 1,700 educators and focused on the theme of “Building Strong Systems.” The conference provides support to educators in “implementing effective, evidence-based practices in Missouri’s public schools with the goal of improved student learning in every student in every school.” (Source: www.dese.mo.gov)

The importance of providing a quality education to EVERY student should always be a top goal for any school district, and it’s exciting to see our staff members working diligently on projects that empower students and provide strong foundations.
